Our project will provide results with a potential for high novelty value.
- On this project the content of the training concerns (a) the management of distressed and disturbed patients in psychiatric hospitals and inpatient units and (b) examines ethical questions, related to this care. This latter is a novel educational area in web-based learning for nurses’ continuing vocational training. Therefore, the novel component is a new training material for European area.
- The environment for the education is a psychiatric hospitals and inpatient units where changes usually happen slowly due to the strong organisational culture.
- Traditionally mental health vocational training has taken place in the classroom, which means that our project provides a new didactic solution.
- Accreditation of the training in the programmes of the education systems of different countries will be possible as practices as standardized. Common educational practices will facilitate the comparison of staff’s professional competencies and the quality of the education between organisations and countries, which will make it easier for qualified nurses to work in different countries in Europe.
- The project will offer new cooperation and networks. When education takes place in an innovative environment, information flow between different actors increases. Users and decision makers work together in area where new challenges are slowly accepted.
