Admission to studies leading to the Doctor of Medical Science (DMS), Doctor of Dental Science (DDS) or Doctor of Nursing Science is open to persons who have obtained the degree of Licentiate in Medicine, Licentiate in Dentistry or Master of Nursing Science at the university in Finland or an equivalent qualification from a university abroad, or who have in some other way satisfied the Faculty Council of their qualifications and ability.
A person who is seeking an admission to the postgraduate studies should decide his/ her field of interest and then contact to the professor or the head of the Department. Contact information from: http://www.med.utu.fi/en/departments/
The application time is continuous except Nursing Science. Please check the study guide of Nursing Science.
Faculty of Medicine doesn't offer any scholarships so the postgraduate student must find the funding beforehand by him/herself.
Students accepted to degree studies at a Finnish university will be issued a visa/residence permit after showing that their own funds or a scholarship will cover living expenses in Finland. According to theFinnish Immigration Service the needed sum is 6 000 euros before arrival in Finland. This deposit will be at the student's disposal while studying in Finland.
