Research Laboratories
The research laboratories of the Institute of Dentistry which are located in the Dentalia Building provide laboratory services for all departments. The laboratory facilities for histology, microbiology, cell culture, molecular biology, biochemistry and immunology are at the 3rd floor of Dentalia. The laboratories serve mainly researchers, but testing services are also available. The laboratories are supervised by Adjunct Professor Eva Söderling.
A new core-facility laboratory on the Faculty of Medicine "Turku Clinical Biomaterials Centre – TCBC" has recently been established (www.biomaterials.utu.fi) to the Institute of Dentistry. TCBC is located in the PharmaCity Building and the supervisor of the laboratory is DDS Lippo Lassila. Director of the TCBC is Professor of Biomaterials Science Pekka Vallittu and medical director is Professor of Orthopaedics and Traumatology Hannu Aro.
